The Vigor swimming program doesn't offer squad training sessions at a pool as all swimming pools offer squad training as part of their services. However, what we do offer is one on one coaching sessions for all levels. This may be for a beginner wanting to learn how to swim through to a competitive athlete needing technique help. We meet informally at the Fitzroy Pool Monday and Thursday mornings, this is your opportunity for stroke correction. You can also join in the water running session at 7am, which is becoming very popular!

Over the summer months we like to get to the ocean or even a lake for some open water swimming. This provides a perfect opportunity to practice swimming in a group, sighting your course and dealing with variable water conditions. This can be in preparation for open water races and multi-sport events such as Adventure Racing or Triathlon.

Joining the Vigor Swimming Group

You can join the Vigor Swimming Group by becoming a Vigor Member for $99 a year as outlined on the Vigor Membership page. This gives you access to a year of free technique advice and support for your goal events. It also gives you discounts at the Vigor Clinic so you'll get your $99 back in no time, we like to look after our swimmers!

Swimming Lessons

Liam is a Level 1 Triathlon coach, studied swimming technique and biomechanics during his Human Movement Degree, taught Auswim from babies to adults for 5 years and has competed in many open water swimming events for over 20 years. He is also a brick and living proof bricks can swim!

If you join as a Vigor member, you are entitled to free technique advice. If you require more help than that we can meet for an hour for some one on one tuition. The hour session costs $75 ($65 for Vigor members) and can be arranged at anytime.
